Casement, Awning and Hopper windows all share the same frame and sash components and are considered to be in the same family of products. What differentiates one from the other is the function of operation and the hardware components necessary for that operation type. Casement, awning, and hopper units can be stacked and mulled with each other and doors in numerous configurations.

1. Choose a Design Profile:
Because Casements, Awnings and Hopper windows are in the same family of products, they also share the same design options. Our standard profiles are manufactured using the European design. We also offer a typical American design option.
2. Choose a stile and rail configuration:
Both the European and the American are available in two stile and rail configurations. Standard stile and rail dimensions for a traditional appearance. Narrow stile and rail profile for more glass to wood ratio and a modern/contemporary appearance.

European designed casements have adopted the standard 2-1/4″ sash with multiple steps of weatherstrip used on Tilt and Turn windows popularized in Europe. This design offers a superior weather barrier and better thermal protection against the heat and cold. American designed casement windows utilize a typical 1-3/4″ sash as illustrated.
3. Then choose the window and door units:
Your units can be stacked and mulled with other awning, casement, stationary windows and doors in numerous configurations.

Crank-out casement windows are hinged at the side, allowing for excellent ventilation. Easy-to-operate crank handles fold down when not in use for a neat appearance. Roto gears and operating arms are used to close and lock the sash tightly to the frame. Weather stripping helps to prevent air infiltration. Dual arm hinges allow crank-out casements to be opened 90-degrees for cleaning from the interior. Multi-point locks are standard on most units, offering convenience and security. Crank-out casements screens are offered with the option of extruded frames, wood frames or retractable/concealed units. All screens are mounted to the interior and include BetterVue screen mesh. The advantage of push-out casements is in the uncomplicated hardware and easy operation. The sashes are hinged at the side and push open with a lever handle. Friction hinges hold the sashes in place while open. Available in single units or double wide French units. Hardware is available in both single and multi-point locks depending upon your preference and security needs. Available with hinged swing-in wood frames or retractable/concealed screens. All screens include BetterVue screen mesh. In-swing units operate much the same as the Push-Out casements and are a designed to offer the feel of an era gone by. Swing your windows in for an unobstructed view. Screens are mounted to the exterior and are available in extruded frames or wood frames. |
